As part of its resolve to preserve and save the environment the Commissioner Secretary of the Floriculture Department Fayaz Ahmed today urged the people across the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir to come forward and plant more trees in their vicinity.
The commissioner secretary urged the people that saving plants today would mean safeguarding the environment for the present generation as well as the future generation.
The commissioner secretary was speaking at an event organised by the Floriculture Department in connection with the celebration of the World environment day at Jakhani Park, Udhampur.
The commissioner secretary while stressing on the importance of planting trees said that it was the duty of the present generation to plant more trees so as to provide the current as well as the future generations with clean fresh air besides a beautiful landscape.

While continuing the celebration of World Environment Day 2022, Commissioner/Secretary, Floriculture Parks & Gardens Jammu & Kashmir started plantation drive in Jakhani park Udhampur.
The plantation drive was conducted in the presence of Director, Department of Floriculture Parks & Gardens, Jammu S. Jatinder Singh, JKAS, Executive Engineer, Sh. Darshan Kumar Kaith, Joint Director, Sh. Sunil Singh, Floriculture Officer (H.Q) Sh. Ishtiaq Ahmed Malik, Assistant Floriculture Officers, staff and general public.
The plantation drive also conducted in different parks of Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Poonch, Reasi on the eve of world environment day 2022 and around 200 plants of different species such as Aurocaria, Plumeria, Ficus, Bottle brush, Oleander, Neem, Putranjiva, Jasminum and many other shady trees have been planted. Commissioner/Secretary, Floriculture Parks & Gardens Jammu & Kashmir stressed upon the officers, staff and general public for more and more plantation, make life style environment friendly, keep surroundings neat and clean and educate more people to save planet earth.
Besides plantation drive, Commissioner/Secretary, Floriculture Parks & Gardens, Jammu Jammu & Kashmir have reviewed the various developmental works of Jakhani Parks, Udhampur and Tulip Garden, Sanasar. He directed the officials of the department to complete engineering and gardening work well in time at Tulip Garden, Sanasar so that Tulip show be done successfully in the coming year to attract maximum number of tourists in Jammu Division.
